New Exeed ES8 Revealed With 1,000 KM Range and Solid State Battery

New Exeed ES8 Revealed With 1,000 KM Range and Solid State Battery

Chery is making a very clear statement with the newly unveiled Chery Exeed ES8, and it is not a quiet one. Revealed today under the premium Exeed brand, the ES8 arrives as a shooting brake that blends long roof practicality with sharp, low drag design. This is not just another electric vehicle reveal. It feels like Chery is using the ES8 to show how serious it is about competing at the top end of the electric market.

The design immediately stands out. The shooting brake profile gives the ES8 a sporty but usable shape, with a long roofline that flows smoothly into the rear. Aerodynamics clearly played a big role here, with the ES8 achieving a drag coefficient of around 0.22, which puts it right in line with some of the most efficient electric cars on the road today. The front is clean and modern, while the rear leans into a wide stance that makes the car look planted and premium rather than experimental.

Under the skin, this is where things get even more interesting. The Exeed ES8 is expected to be one of the first production models from Chery to use solid state battery technology. That alone makes this reveal significant. With that battery setup, Chery is targeting a driving range close to 1,000 kilometers on a single charge, positioning the ES8 as a serious long distance electric vehicle rather than a city focused commuter. Dual electric motors are expected, delivering all wheel drive along with torque vectoring for better handling and stability.

Technology is another area where the ES8 is clearly aiming high. The car will feature Chery’s Falcon intelligent driving system, with support for advanced driver assistance functions that are designed to scale toward Level 3 autonomous capability. Four wheel steering is also part of the plan, which should help make this long roof vehicle feel much more agile in tight spaces while improving stability at higher speeds. Large multi piston brakes suggest that performance and stopping power are being taken just as seriously as range and efficiency.

Inside, the ES8 is expected to focus on a clean, modern cabin that matches its premium positioning. While full interior details are still limited, the emphasis appears to be on technology integration, comfort, and a minimalist layout that feels upscale rather than overly futuristic. This is clearly a model designed to elevate Exeed’s image globally, not just in the Chinese market.

Overall, the Exeed ES8 feels like a turning point. It is stylish, ambitious, and packed with next generation technology that goes beyond incremental updates. If Chery delivers on the promises shown at this reveal, the ES8 could become one of the most talked about electric shooting brakes to enter production in the coming years.
