Lamborghini Revuelto SV Revealed With Incredible Hockenheim Lap

Lamborghini is getting ready to reveal one of its most anticipated supercars of the year. The Revuelto Superveloce will make its official debut next week at The Quail, but the company has already given enthusiasts something to talk about. Before anyone has even seen the production version without camouflage, the new model has reportedly set a remarkable lap time at Germany’s Hockenheimring circuit.

Factory driver Marco Mapelli guided the camouflaged Revuelto Superveloce around the track in an impressive 1:41.6. Lamborghini says that performance makes it the fastest production car at the circuit, although many enthusiasts have pointed out that the Mercedes AMG One has previously recorded a quicker lap on the Grand Prix configuration. It remains possible that Lamborghini is referring to a different production category or circuit classification, and more details are expected once the company provides clarification.

Even without official specifications, there is plenty of reason to expect the Revuelto Superveloce to raise the bar. The standard Revuelto already delivers a combined 1,001 horsepower from its naturally aspirated 6.5 liter V12 engine working together with 3 electric motors. However, Lamborghini has already demonstrated that this hybrid system has additional potential through the exclusive Fenomeno, which produces 1,065 horsepower.

That makes it likely the upcoming Superveloce will receive a meaningful power increase, but performance will not be the only upgrade. Engineers are expected to introduce a more aggressive aerodynamic package designed to generate additional downforce at high speeds. Revised suspension tuning, improved chassis calibration, stickier performance tires, and stronger braking hardware could all play an important role in making the new model significantly faster on both road and track.

Weight reduction is another possibility, although Lamborghini has not confirmed whether lighter materials will be used throughout the car. Even so, every indication suggests the company has focused on creating a sharper and more capable version of its flagship hybrid supercar rather than simply adding more horsepower.

With the official unveiling only days away, expectations continue to build. Production is expected to remain limited, and pricing will almost certainly exceed the already expensive standard Revuelto. If the early lap record is any indication, Lamborghini may be preparing to introduce one of its quickest and most focused road cars ever built.
