Ferrari 488 Spider Imagined

Ferrari 488 Spider Imagined

Go ahead and imagine about taking down the top on this 660 or star Italian supercar, while also imagining yourself in other droptop exotics. Odds are, you’ll be still thinking about the 488 Spider, right?

The new Ferrari 488 Spider is one extremely beautiful  supercarcar. Even though some have argued that the Ferrari 458 was a bit more…elegant, the Ferrari 488’s added aggression does make it stand out more, and not in a bad way.

In terms of performance specifications, you’re pretty much set for the rest of your life with this one, one might think. It’s got a 660 horsepower 3.9 liter twin-turbo V8 engine, helping it get from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3 seconds dead, whereas 200 km/h (124 mph) takes 8.7 seconds.

The car also weighs only 50kg more than the Ferrari 488 GTB, while still being 10kg clear of the old  Ferrari458 Spider.

Of course, just as with the Ferrari 458 and  Ferrari458 Spider, we should get Speciale versions of the  Ferrari488 as well – where the convertible might be called the  Ferrari  ‘Speciale A’ again.

But right away, there’s a problem. Looking at images of the 458 Speciale A, you can’t help but be in awe of its ultra-aggressive front end, which features more design elements than you see in this rendering.

Sure, Ferrari can still add some stuff to the real product, if or when they build it, but what we’re seeing here is a tiny bit too “settled down”.

Still, the designer did a great job overall, especially by adding those sportier seats and getting the front end to stand out more than it does on the standard 488 Spider.
