FIA World Endurance Championship LM P2 battle will go down to the wire
YOKOHAMA, Japan – One of the most important races in determining who will be the 2015 Super GT Champion took place yesterday at Autopolis in Japan.

After a white-knuckled head-to-head battle that spanned over two hours, the #1 MOTUL AUTECH GT-R of Tsugio Matsuda and Ronnie Quintarelli came out on top, having started the race from third on the grid. Following behind in second place was the pole-sitting #12 Calsonic IMPUL GT-R of Hironobu Yasuda and Joao Paolo de Oliveira, making it a 1-2 finish for the Nissan GT-R in the GT500 class.

In the GT300 class the #3 B-MAX NDDP GT-R of Kazuki Hoshino and Mitsunori Takaboshi grabbed the win, with the #10 GAINER TANAX GT-R of Andre Couto and Katsumasa Chiyo coming in second to make it the GT-R’s second double 1-2 finish of the season.

The GT300 result was enough to secure the driver’s title for Andre Couto, but the main championships will be decided at the season finale at Motegi in two weeks time.

FIA WEC LM P2 Battle Will Go Down to the Wire in Bahrain

The penultimate round of the FIA World Endurance Championship took place in Shanghai, China last weekend and the six-hour race produced the first LM P2 WEC win of 2015 for the Signatech Alpine squad. The #36 Alpine-Nissan took the win from right under the noses of the two main championship protagonists from G-Drive Racing and KCMG, who finished in second and third place, securing a 1-2-3 result for Nissan NISMO power.

Just as they did in Fuji, the weather gods delivered incredibly difficult conditions for the teams to contend with in Shanghai. The race had to be started behind the safety car due to heavy rain and numerous showers would follow for the next few hours, causing a number of spins and trips to the gravel trap for the competitors.

With one more round to go, the scene has been set for a fantastic fight to the finish in the LM P2 class when the teams reconvene in Bahrain on November 21.
