Collezione trim level for the Alfa Romeo MiTo and the Giulietta hatchbacks

Alfa Romeo adds a little “posh” to its U.K. line-up by introducing the Collezione trim level for the MiTo and the Giulietta hatchbacks

The new option matures Alfa’s “Cuore Sportivo” flair, making it renounce its impish presence for a more refined, luxurious approach. The Collezione variant is now the luxury flagship of its respective range, offering a more elegant specification for Alfa’s subcompact and compact models.

The changes are subtle and minute, yet enough to set the trim apart from the sporty QV Line models. The MiTo, for example, receives a set of 17-inch “Collezione Bronze” rims with matching bronze effect door mirrors and satin-effect headlights and taillights surrounds – as standard equipment.

The interior of Alfa’s subcompact automobile is trimmed in special “Collezione” cloth and eco-leather, with contrasting brown-stitching on the flat-bottom steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake. It also features a split-folding, three-seat rear bench, sports dials, special vintage floor mats and a high-end infotainment system.

The MiTo is only offered with a choice of a 0.9-litre, 105 hp, turbocharged Twin-Air powerplant, or a 1.4-litre, 140 hp, turbo engine. The latter also comes with Alfa Romeo’s twin-clutch TCT transmission and Brembo brakes as standard, and it costs £19,210 ($29,707)

The Giulietta, on the other hand, starts at £24,820 ($38,381) for the 1.4 MultiAir Turbo Petrol 170 hp and also includes a £27,840 ($43,050) 2.0 JTDM-2 175hp diesel option. As with the Mito, the Giulietta Collezione (which was actually originally presented in February) is the top-spec offering in its range and features luxury-inspired standard equipment.
