The good folks at AutoBlog.nl have managed to somehow obtain a low-res, blurry spy picture of the hybrid Bugatti Veyron replacement covered up pretty good.

The prototype test vehicle was spotted at an airport in Los Angeles California and based on this we think it’s now heading to Pebble Beach where Bugatti probably has plans of showing it to some of the customers that are most likely to buy one.

Due to the heavy cover up, there’s not much we can say about how it will look, but according to Instagram user Paul Woodman – who says he saw the car in person – it will look very different than in unofficial photos going around the Internet, stating that it will be “beautiful… very aggressive and very sporty!”

Based on recent spy reports, expect the new Bugatti Chiron (name not confirmed yet) to retain the monstrous W16 8.0-liter engine which will still have four turbos, but at least two of the turbochargers will be very efficient electrically-driven.

Total power is estimated to be an incredible 1,500 PS (1,103 kW) and 1,500 Nm (1,106 lb-ft) which with the weight loss it will have should enable the  hypercar to run the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in only two seconds flat, although this seems too good to be true due to traction issues.

To be a worthy Bugatti Veyron replacement, the new Bugatti Chiron will apparently be able to achieve a top speed of a mind-boggling 288 mph (463 km/h), making it significantly quicker than the Bugatti Veyron SS WRE which was electronically limited at 258 mph (415 km/h).

An official reveal of the Bugatti Chiron is expected to occur in mid 2016 but Bugatti will probably show us first a concept version before the production model it is official .
