Audi R8 GT3 LMS Conversion Kit by Mcchip-DKR

Audi R8 GT3 LMS Conversion Kit by Mcchip-DKR

Mcchip-DKR initially made a name for themselves a ECU tuner for mostly German cars. They could, and still can extract considerable amounts of power from every type of engine simply by changing a few parameters of code in its software. But they are now a full on tuner with immense variety of performance goods. They have just finished converting a normal Audi R8 into an Audi R8 GT3 LMS racecar.

It was a giant task, but the folks at Mcchip have pulled it off rather nicely, turning a stock Audi R8 V10 into a mean and exciting track car that can still be used on the road if the owner chooses to. An amazing number of modifications were done for this job to be perfect.

Beginning with the aggressive bodywork, Audi R8 GT3 LMS conversion meant changing most of the body parts with LMS replicas in lightweight carbon fiber, including custom front and rear bumper, and a plethora of aero parts such as front splitter and a huge rear wing for maximum downforce. They have also widened the fenders in true LMS style appearance, making room for a set of wide wheels and tires. Above these wheels you find track-specific KW Competition 3 performance coilovers. The interior is also modified accordingly to make the vehicle suitable for track work.

The best part of this massive project, in our opinion at least, is what Mcchip has done with the already potent Audi R8 V10’s engine. A large supercharger kit complete with all the pulleys, high-end stronger pistons,  free flow sport air filters and manifolds, a larger intercooler, and a nice sounding Capristo exhaust system are among the main features of this engine which now produces an  incredible over 850 horsepower!
