780HP Mercedes-AMG GLE63 Coupe by Mcchip-DKR

780HP Mercedes-AMG GLE63 Coupe by Mcchip-DKR

The latest mcchip-DKR tuning project involves the Mercedes-AMG GLE63 S Coupé, a 585 hp and 760 Nm (561 lb-ft) SUV. With that kind of numbers and an acquisition price to match, it’s clear nobody even bothers to read the fuel consumption numbers: it’s all about the power.

With that in mind, mcchip-DKR set out to see how much more of it can be obtained from that 5.5-liter V8 bi-turbo. Unlike a straightforward chip tuning procedure that the company’s name might suggest, those nearly 200 extra hp required a much more complicated intervention. So complicated, in fact, that any interested party should know that it takes no less than six days to complete, as the whole engine needs to be taken out and then (obviously) put back in.

The reason for this permutation are the mechanical modifications that go with the software update such as improved turbochargers and a new exhaust system with sport cats and downpipes.
