2016 Alpina B7 spy photos

2016 Alpina B7 spy photos

Alpina’s test drivers were spotted once again while tackling the Nordschleife to fine-tune their flagship model ahead of next year’s launch.

BMW clearly said a short while ago a fully-fledged M7 is not on the agenda but they also said those who want a higher performance 7-Series should give Alpina a call and place an order for the B7. The upcoming model can be seen here in prototype guise and this time it shows more production-ready bits and pieces like the lower front spoiler and the beefier air intakes. In addition, we can also notice that it has a sportier suspension, a menacing quad exhaust setup, a more aggressive rear bumper along with a subtle spoiler lip mounted on the trunk for added downforce.

In terms of power, we expect the 2016 Alpina B7 to use an upgraded version of the twin-turbo V8 4.4-liter engine that could generate close to 600 PS (441 kW). This should be enough muscle to grant the vehicle with a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in just over four seconds which is very impressive given the sheer size and weight of the car.

We were expecting to see the new B7 at last month’s Frankfurt Motor Show, but since that obviously didn’t happen, most likely Alpina will wait until March 2016 for the Geneva Motor Show. The old B7 based on the previous generation 7-Series has been removed from their website which means the new one is getting ready for an official online reveal prior to the car’s public debut.
